I'm Jeff Abrams, author of Sticks and Stones: A Study of Hurtful Words and Helpful Remedies. As a preacher of the Gospel of Christ, I have the best job in the world! I enjoy words: preaching words, reading words, writing words. In my book you'll hopefully see my fondness for creating unique words and phrases ("Blabaholic," "Gossipzilla," "Busybodies target busy people," "broccoli words" etc.). I enjoy doing mission work in Ukraine. Since 1993 a big part of my heart has been committed to this work. It is in Ukraine that "I baptized Alla." How many preachers can say that? (Alla is an elderly, wonderful teacher of children). My profits from this book will help support Ukraine missions. Not only do I have the world's best job, I have the world's best family (no offense to all of you who hopefully feel the same about your family). I enjoy being a husband. My wife Judy is a teacher, "the third parent" to many children. She's creative and lives to serve. A nice bonus: she doesn't gossip! I enjoy being a dad. Our children are nearly too good to be true. Two sons are in college (Harding University). Jordan wants to preach, Josh wants to practice law or medicine. Our daughter Jennah is 13 and knows everything. She really does. Every dad needs a Jennah in his life. I hope you'll enjoy reading Sticks and Stones. If you do, pass it on to a gossiper. If you don't, it makes for a good coaster! May God bless us as we seek to "lick our tongue problem." |
